Art, craft and design at Iqra Primary school, is of high-quality and this creative part of our curriculum engages, inspires and challenges our pupils. It equips our children with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As our pupils progress, they think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They also develop a knowledge of how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of Britain. The quality of artwork and the talents of our pupils can be seen as you walk around our school. Artwork adorns the school walls and through displays, and we are very proud of the creative abilities of our amazing children.

Design Technology at Iqra, requires pupils to apply knowledge and skills to solve practical problems.  It involves identifying needs, generating design ideas, planning, making and appraising.  It spans the curriculum and supports work in other subjects such as maths, and science.  Through well planned tasks which allow the children to achieve the targets within familiar contexts, pupils learn how to take risks and become resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. These are essential skills for our pupils to develop as they prepare to take their place as adults in society. This is taught through cross curricular planning throughout EYFS to KS2.
