  • Postman Pat Delivers Eid Cheer to Iqra Primary School!

    Published 06/04/25

Iqra Primary School was full of excitement and wonder as a very special visitor arrived – none other than Postman Pat! In the spirit of Eid and Ramadan, children across the school wrote heartfelt Eid cards to their friends and teachers, posting them into the school’s very own post box. To their delight, Postman Pat came to collect the cards and hand-delivered them around the school, bringing big smiles and festive cheer to every classroom.

But that wasn’t all – Postman Pat also brought along a special Eid gift for every single child at Iqra Primary, making the day even more magical! The joy and excitement were felt throughout the school as children received their surprise gifts ahead of the Eid celebrations.

In the lead-up to this heart-warming event, pupils also took part in a creative Eid card competition. Children put their artistic skills to the test, designing vibrant and thoughtful cards to celebrate Eid. From colourful patterns to heartfelt messages, the entries showcased the creativity and spirit of our talented pupils.

Nine winning designs were selected and professionally printed – a moment of pride for the winners and their families! The winning pupils were:

    • Hajirah Ali – EYFS

    • Aliza Osman – Year 1

    • Hoorain Ghafoor – Year 2

    • Eisa Hussain – Year 3

    • Mehak Hamid – Year 4

    • Ayat Ejaz Ahmed – Year 5

    • Aleena Shaik – Year 6

    • Mrs Ikram and Miss Dar – Staff Winners

The printed cards were then sold, with all proceeds going to charity – a wonderful way for our school community to come together and give back during the blessed month of Ramadan. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our pupils and parents, we raised valuable funds for those in need.

We are so proud of all the children who took part in the competition and helped spread the joy of Eid. A special thank you to Postman Pat for delivering smiles, gifts, and creating memories that will last a lifetime!

  • 2024 Update: We are the first school in Slough to retain the Platinum Schools Games Mark since 2018/19!

    Published 25/04/24

"It is truly awesome how Iqra school just doesn't settle and keeps striving and working harder to make PE even better for every child in their school. The drive and passion for inclusivity for all pupils is inspiring, especially being driven by a wonderful young lady in Year 6! This is exactly the type of ambition we want schools to have, especially on the agenda of equal access and through the eyes of young people and their voice, but also them knowing they are heard and can create change in their communities. The impact it sounds like they have had on both the PE curriculum and the extra-curricular is just superb and a real credit to all involved in driving this forward. The school is a pleasure to work with and pushes us all to keep pushing boundaries for young people, especially when they are truly leading the way!
A massive well done Iqra Primary School!"
